Affiliate Summit West = The Best!
“Bright light city gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire
Got a whole lot of money that’s ready to burn,
So get those stakes up higher
Viva Las Vegas, Viva Las Vegas”
Thanks to everyone who made the Affiliate Summit in Vegas such a success! It was great seeing old faces again and getting to hang out with our favorite clients. We met a lot of new people as well, which we are very excited about. I can’t wait until everyone gets back in town and sobers up so we can get some business going!
This was actually my very first time in Las Vegas so I had no idea what to expect. After a few crazy days/nights in the city of lights, I have a few words of wisdom:
1. Whatever you do - wear comfortable shoes! This might seem obvious, but you have to correctly define what comfortable shoes really are. I bought a pair of shoes specifically for the show that I thought were comfortable –but in fact they were not. Was it just me or was the conference hall about two miles away from the hotel rooms?! By the end of the show I was sporting the Media Whiz slippers, which might I add, were VERY comfortable.
2. Do NOT drink any shots that contain tabasco sauce. I think this is pretty self-explanatory.
3. Always keep hand sanitizer handy. I have never shaken so many hands in my life, and now I am trying to shake off a mad cold.
4. Don’t set up breakfast meetings with clients if you are out until breakfast. This is a bad idea, unless you plan on meeting with a bottle of water, aspirin and a pillow.
5. Avoid playing the slots if you are unlucky to begin with. Let’s face it, unlucky people never win.
6. Don’t ever touch a man who is covered in blue paint. Unless you like wearing blue paint.
7. Beware of slurring drunken passengers at the airport. They might be fun to talk to, but they are not true friends.

I would venture to guess that any alcohol (be it a shot, on the rocks, straight up or frozen) with tobasco is a bad idea!
Poll: So does the old adage, What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, hold true for this trip?
